Engaging and Empowering Young Adults in Health and Wellness
Confluence brings together multiple clinical approaches and treatment models to help individuals heal, create lasting change and develop new strategies for moving forward. The program is a hybrid of a residential treatment center and wilderness therapy program. Combining the comfort and support of a home-like setting with the inherent challenges of outdoor experiences, Confluence provides the balance young adults need to actively engage in their wellness.
The residential setting offers participants a refuge where they can focus on their clinical work, contemplative practices, life skills and wellness. At the residence, participants live communally, manage their space, prepare meals and clean together in a manner similar to home. The group setting provides a safe space to recognize and work on relationship and behavior patterns, while identifying and drawing out strengths.
Confluence uses outdoor and wilderness experiences as a means to develop accomplishment, build self-esteem and foster engagement. Outdoor experiences instill belonging and connection and help participants create patterns for healthy living. The outdoors are restorative, instill calm and provide an opportunity to slow the pace of life, while at the same time offering fun and adventure. The adventures provide a backdrop to process experiences and a lens for working with challenges.
The confluence of the wilderness and residence motivates and empowers individuals on their journey toward wellness. They represent an ideal mix of support and challenge that works to remove the barriers to change and promote healing and growth.
