Jackie Spithill, CMHC
Primary Clinician
Jackie earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College, specializing in Experiential Adventure-Based Counseling. Her undergraduate degree in Psychology laid the groundwork for a lifelong interest in human behavior, emotional wellness, and relational connection. She integrates acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused approaches, motivational interviewing, and strength-based techniques in her clinical work.
Jackie’s professional interests center on experiential and nature-based therapy, holistic wellness, and supporting emerging adults navigating identity, change, and personal growth. She believes in the human capacity for emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being, and she strives to hold a therapeutic space that encourages reflection, empowerment, and meaningful transformation.
Before becoming a therapist, Jackie spent over a decade working in the outdoor active travel industry, guiding groups across Glacier National Park, Croatia, Peru, Africa, and Costa Rica. Her work supported people through life transitions, challenged them to grow, and helped build deep resilience. This path naturally led her to mental health work: she started as a guide in a therapeutic program and later became a full-time therapist with an adventure therapy program in Costa Rica. There, she ran individual and group therapy sessions, trained team members, and facilitated experiential field work such as surfing, rafting, and backpacking.
Outside of work, Jackie feels most at home in nature, surfing, biking, hiking, exploring new places, and staying active. She also enjoys writing and creative projects that help her reflect and stay grounded. A lifelong traveler, she finds inspiration in experiencing new cultures and landscapes. She is often accompanied by her golden doodle, Queso, who brings an instant smile to everyone she meets. Her personal and professional lives come together through her love of adventure, creativity, and her belief that true growth happens when we step beyond our comfort zones.
