Caleb Rigdon

Life Skills Instructor
Before becoming a Vermont transplant, Caleb was firmly rooted in the greatest state in the Union, also known as Iowa. Though a wonderful place in many ways, the rural nature of The Hawkeye State does mean it has large swathes of mental health desert, a fact that motivated Caleb to pursue a career providing support to individuals. Studying social and criminal justice, two stints of AmeriCorps service, and a year of clocking in as a state employee preceded his 17 months at Confluence Behavioral Health as a field mentor. While at Confluence, Caleb experienced firsthand the growth and self-actualization that space provides to young adults. The work also helped him discover joy in supporting folks in a hands-on manner, attaching intentionality and meanings to the minor tasks done every day, and exploring how doing so affects mental and emotional wellness. The mentor role galvanized him to seek out further professional opportunities to continue to support young adults, and Confluence Transitions heeded the call.

When not working or pestering people with facts about the aforementioned state, Caleb enjoys reading, wordslinging, walking to and around places, reveling in nature, enjoying a coffee with or without company, saying he will do other things to stay fit but always just opting to run, and entering data in spreadsheets.
