Mental Health Treatment for Young Adults Near Bristol, VT

Medically Reviewed by Bill Brown, LCMHC

Watching a young adult in your life struggle with anxiety, depression, or another mental health challenge is hard — especially when you’re not sure where to turn for care that actually fits their stage of life. Confluence Behavioral Health provides evidence-based mental health treatment for young adults ages 18–28, with programs conveniently accessible to families in and around Bristol, Vermont.

Support for Bristol-Area Families

Bristol sits in the heart of Addison County, and for families here, finding specialized young adult mental health care nearby can feel limited. Confluence bridges that gap. Our Burlington-based Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Transitional Living program are about a 45-minute drive from Bristol, giving local young adults access to clinically sophisticated care without leaving the region. For those who need a higher level of support, our residential program is set on 125 peaceful acres in Thetford Center, Vermont — a further drive, but well worth it for the level of immersive, structured care it provides.

Our Continuum of Care

Confluence offers a full spectrum of mental health treatment, so young adults from Bristol can find the right level of support and step between levels of care as their needs change:

  • Residential Experience: A structured, immersive program on our Thetford Center campus for young adults who need a higher level of clinical support and distance from daily stressors.
  • Transitional Living: Located in downtown Burlington, helping young adults build independent living, academic, and career skills alongside mental health support.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Also in Burlington, offering a flexible, dynamic approach to therapy for young adults who can live at home or independently while receiving care.
  • Outpatient Treatment & Aftercare Support: Ongoing therapy and support for continued progress after a higher level of care.
