Individualized Treatment – A Strong Focus on Building Relationships – Emotionally Safe Group Culture
Confluence is a short-term, residential treatment program helping young adults overcome mental health challenges and more successfully navigate the transition to adulthood. Confluence provides transformational experiences by addressing whole person health with an emphasis on mental health and well being. Confluence clinical programming confronts the psychological, emotional, relational and personal hurdles getting in the way of young adults leading rich and fulfilling lives. Confluence combines a team approach that enlists the family in a comprehensive care plan.
While enrolled, participants work directly with the Confluence clinical team. Under the clinical team's supervision, participants at Confluence receive individualized treatment plans developed to confront their specific mental health, emotional or behavioral challenges. Additionally, participants learn new skills and acquire the tools necessary to see beyond their current challenges. Our clinical team focuses on creating growth mindsets where individuals explore positive change and facilitate their own development.
Clinicians at Confluence employ a number of treatment methods in individual and group settings to create the space needed for change. Methodologies include:
- Attachment Theory
- Postive Peer Culture
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Contemplative and Meditative Practice
- Positive Psychology
- Adventure-Based Counseling
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Relational-Cultural Therapy
- Family Systems Theory
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
- Developmental Psychology
- Psychodynamic Approach
We believe healing and true change happens in the context of relationships built on honesty, trust and a commitment to emotional safety. This supports a discovery and development of the self that leads to lasting change. Confluence is founded on a recognition that every person has the potential to improve the quality of their experience.
Clinical care at Confluence is built on the foundations of healing and growth, but our belief is every young adult has the potential to move beyond that. We believe every person has the capacity to thrive. The program helps participants build the skills, mindsets and strategies for their most capable and successful self. Through this method participants gain the capacity to positively engage, generate meaning, foster positive relationships and live a more fulfilling life.
Every experience and intervention at Confluence is intentionally designed to help participants feel safe in exploring their own treatment process. Our clinicians and staff bring compassionate care and a core belief in every participant's efficacy and determination to their work. We create a setting that values respect and honesty and appreciates the diversity of experience each participant brings to Confluence.
Confluence's clinical approach helps young adults balance the extremes pulling them away from their true selves. As such, our clinical programming is designed to span a wide array of experience - activity and rest, work and play, autonomy and connection - each in the context of relationships that provide a precise blend of challenge and support. This clinical model addresses the real-life challenges young adults face as they launch towards independence.
Each experience provides participants an opportunity to explore their emotional lives in a range of situations. The juxtapositions encourage participants to develop strategies that build adaptability, resilience and flexibility while fostering growth and needed change. Every experience facilitates the search for balance in which participants develop a strong stable center.
