Recovery is a Journey.

The Healing Path

Healing takes action and time. Confluence’s program is designed to begin and make significant progress on the journey towards mental health and wellbeing. Our program is targeted and designed to help jumpstart the journey towards health and support young adults and their families in leading healthier lives, individually and together. The work requires allies and those who are there as part of the solution. The road to better health is often winding and challenges lie ahead. Learning new skills and strategies for wellness takes time, while implementing and practicing them as needed requires accountability and commitment to the process. Mastering these wellness skills and effecively managing long term health is a lifetime’s work.

Course of Care

During the course of care at Confluence, participants embark on the path of focusing on their health in a comprehensive way, gaining new understanding of themselves and their challenges, and developing and practicing the tools needed to maintain wellness over time. Families navigate this course alongside participants, seeking new patterns, building trust and understanding their own challenges and ways to be supportive of the participant. For both participant and family this process can be challenging and it is often non-linear. Confluence clinicians, staff and parent coaches will be there along the way collaborating with participant and family to work through difficulties, navigate important conversations and help devise solutions for forward progress.

Communication & Engagement

Communication is a foundational principle of the program and it is an imperative of quality care. Confluence values transparent and effective communication with participants and their families. We also seek to support families in creating open and honest communications within the family system. In creating both, Confluence can support the path of wellness for participants and families alike.

Participants at Confluence embark on a major investment in their wellbeing. It’s a process that requires courage and the capacity to reflect deeply on their lives and experience. Additionally, participating in Confluence’s care marks a significant commitment of time and resources for families. We ask parents to make a parallel commitment to their young adult participating in treatment by approaching the experience with an open heart and mind and engaging with our services to the fullest extent.
